David Chilton Obituary

REIDSVILLE - David Wayne Chilton, Sr., 64, of 325 Cook Florist Road died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Annie Penn Hospital after five years of declining health.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Mr. Chilton was born May 11, 1941 in Rockingham County to the late Joseph P. and Mary E. Chilton and retired from Stevco Knit. He loved his family and friends and loved to work in his shop. He could fix almost anything and had a heart of gold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Haywood and Calvin Chilton; sisters, Elaine Reynolds, Alvinia Chilton and Lucille Wheeler; half-brothers, Lindsey, Ed, Arthur and Bryant Chilton; half-sisters, Thelma Chilton, Ethel Strader, Cora McKinney, Carrie Powell and Ella Saunders.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Smith Chilton; son, David Wayne Chilton, II; daughters, Kimberly Chilton Powell and husband, Kim of Eden, Stacey Chilton Gunn and husband, Kelly of Reidsville; grandchildren, Landon Wayne Powell, Janna Lynn Powell, Christopher Ray Powell, Morgan and Monica Gunn; brothers, Garland Chilton and wife, Annie Mae, Jesse Chilton and wife, Dot; sisters, Mary Smith and husband, Gene, Doris Billingsley, Vivian Denny and husband Frank, Coleen Shropshire and husband, Claude, Josephine Ward, Cleo Lawson and husband, Parks, all of Reidsville.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Just wanted to say,we lost a good buddy when David Wayne left, and want to send condolences to Barbara, Kim, David Jr. and Stacey and all the other family members. May God comfort your hearts in a mighty way!!!
