David A Draisma

David A. Draisma, age 55, of Holland, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Lapeer, MI, and is now in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus. David was a 1978 graduate of Holland Christian High School, had previously worked at Huizenga Redi-Mix and was currently employed at Zook Farm Equipment where he was an award winning salesman for many years. David was also an active member of East Saugatuck Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an elder, deacon, building committee chairman, Sunday School teacher and even delivered children's messages. David's hobbies included helping friends find items on Craig's List and his toy pedal tractor collection. He loved to work and especially loved to help his daughters with projects around their houses. David volunteered with the Family Association of Grand Valley State University and with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. David was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John H Draisma and brother-in-law, Daniel Viernes. David will be greatly missed by his: Wife of 33 years, and the Angel and love of his life, Mary Jo Draisma Children Darlene and Brett Kuipers of Holland Whitney and Ryan Draisma-Hirdes of Holland Mallory Draisma at home Natalie Draisma at home Granddaughter Paige Kuipers Mother Elaine Draisma of Holland Parents-in-law John Jr. and Marilyn Dreyer of Holland Siblings Marcia and Jim Vandenbrink of Holland Ken and Judi Draisma of Holland Steve and Leslie Draisma of Zeeland In-laws John Dreyer III and Shelly Raak of Holland Jim and Susan Dreyer of Twin Lake, MI Many nieces and nephews and his little buddies, Dakota, FeFe, and Mini Pearl Funeral services are planned for 3:00pm Tuesday, July 5 at East Saugatuck Christian Reformed Church, A-3815 56th St., with Rev. Gary Luurtsma and Pastor Wayne Bakker officiating. Burial will be in East Saugatuck Cemetery. Visiting hours are scheduled for 1-3pm and 6-8pm Sunday, July 3, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to- D.A.D.
