David Richard Goerdt, 54, of Earlville, formerly of Epworth, died Sunday, February 17 of a massive heart attack. He was born March 19, 1953 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque to Lavern & Ada (Kline) Goerdt. On June 18, 1978 he married Nancy (Wessels) Reddin in Epworth. Mr. Goerdt was a 1971 graduate of Western Dubuque High School and was employed with Distinctive Woodworks, Earlville. He is survived by his wife, son, Christopher at home, stepchildren, Jeff Reddin, Davenport, IA, Jeremy (Angie) Reddin, Triumph, IL and Jennifer (Ron) Pauley, Valrico, FL; Brothers, Don (Pat) Goerdt of Farley & Dariss (Phyllis) Goerdt of Iowa City and 5 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Diane Skoville. Dave loved working with woodcrafts and made quite unique items. There will be no visitation or services as the body has been cremated. A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 175, Earlville, IA 52041.
