David B. Grapes

David Bryan Grapes, 69, of Crafton, formerly of Irwin, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 29, 2021. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda (Fink) Grapes; his seven children, Jesse (Elizabeth), Ashleigh (So), Alexis (Neil), Reid (Carla), Taylor (Sheila), Adrienne (Andrew) and Mackenzie; and his 13 grandchildren, with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and E. Mechtild Grapes; and his brother, Timothy Grapes. David was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1970, and Pennsylvania State University, Class of 1981, and worked as a dedicated owner and engineer at the W.W. Patterson Co. on the North Side of Pittsburgh for 34 years. In his time on earth, David appreciated the many simple pleasures that life had to offer. David routinely enjoyed spontaneous adventures, long car rides with his children, hikes in the many forests of the U.S., and traveling to new destinations with his wife, Linda. He will be fondly remembered by his entertaining stories, deep belly laugh, and love of a good conversation. Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at St. Philip Catholic Church located at 50 W. Crafton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA, 15205.
