David Reynolds HAMMOND

It is with great sadness, that the family announce the death of David Reynolds Hammond. Dave died on Dec 1, 2022, at the age of 86, just short of his 63rd wedding anniversary to his dear wife Pauline (Groat). He died of a short illness and a broken heart, after the sudden death of his oldest daughter Deborah, at her home on November 22, 2022. (Age 59). Dave is survived by his wife Pauline, daughter Susan Hammond, and beloved son in law Glenn Barton. He will be missed by his wonderful five grandchildren: Thomas and David Barton (Carley Camirè), Matt (Mia L'Heureux), Mitchell and Megan (Layton Prangley) Munroe, and by his brother J Douglas Hammond (Libby) of Dundas. Also left to grieve are his brother- in- law Dennis Groat, (Bobbie), Deanna Orr of St. Catharines, and his many nieces, and nephews. Dave was born in St. Catharines to John Reynolds Hammond, and Kathleen (Fisher) Hammond. He worked for Bell Canada and The St. Catharines Standard before joining Canadian Tire. He was well thought of as a Canadian Tire dealer in Fenlon Falls, Guelph, and, after many years, he retired from the Perth store in 1995. Dave was known for his business savvy, knowledge, his sense of humor, his long fishing stories, and his love of woodworking and carving. There will be a celebration of life in the Spring for Dave.
