David Haney Obituary
the improvement and overall success of those he worked and interacted with. Dave was a member and Coach of the Oak Grove Pop Warner League in San Jose, CA. He coached over 12 years and successfully led his teams to the Pop Warner National Championships 12 years in a row in Orlando, Florida. He later coached at Oak Grove High School for two years as a Junior Varsity coach. David dedicated himself to excellence. He was a caring Coach, Leader, and Friend. Over the years he made many friends, touched many lives and always put others first. Dave lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, hunting,
football, archery and the outdoors. He loved being surrounded by friends and family. David lived an exemplary life as a devoted husband, loving father and
grandfather. Dave was gentle giant, humble and no-nonsense. He had a great demeanor, a beautiful spirit and great sense of humor. David was man of stature, integrity, honor and respect. He always gave everything he set out to do 100 percent. His motto was" Good Enough, Never Is". He passed quickly while doing what he enjoyed most. David left a mark on this world and he will be missed. David is survived his by wife Monica Haney, Sons Shawn and Brandon Haney and his four grandchildren, Peyton Madison, David Colt, Harper Rose, and Emery Jean Haney Services will be held at the Oak Hill Funeral Home November 5, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Oaks. A Gathering will immediately follow as a tribute to the Celebration of his life held at the San Jose Masonic Center at 1:30 P.M.

I am saddened by the loss of this great man. Dave always had a beaming smile and a positive, can-do attitude. It was always a pleasure to work with Dave on any project. He had the talent to lead and to encourage his team. Dave Haney will definitely be missed by all. My deepest condolences to Monica and his family.

To Monika, Sean, Brandon and family... We were so so saddened and shocked to hear of Dave's passing....as I am sure you all are...we were so BLESSED to have Dave coach both our sons in Pop Warner..and yes they both went to Florida...he was such a GREAT coach and we have the best memories...he truly impacted so many kids and people in such a great way...I could never say enough good things about him as a coach..Monika..Sandy and I are always here for you..sending lots of love and hugs..xoxo

My heartfelt condolences to Monica and the Haney family. I am truly saddened by the loss of Dave. I cherish the memories I have of him, both at work and on the few fishing trips I was lucky enough to join him on, and thankful for all the things he did for me while he was my manager. Dave was one of a kind with a heart of gold and I'll miss seeing his smiling friendly face while getting coffee in the morning. RIP Big Daddy

Monica and family. I'm David's cousin from back in Michigan. Unfortunately, it's been many years since we have been in contact other than when he would come home for a funeral. I just wanted to share that when my parents visited your family in California, they were so proud of the man that David had become. They both talked about how gracious you both were and the wonderful time you showed them during their visit. I wish I had gotten to know him better as an adult, as he sounds like he was a wonderful, caring person. My condolences to you all. I hope your wonderful memories are able to carry you through the difficult days ahead.

Monica, I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Dave. I only met him a couple of times be he left a lasting impression. I just looked through all the photos and what stands out for me is his love of his family and living life to the fullest.
We can all learn from him and live well, enjoy everyday doing the things we love with our family and friends and to be happy.

Dear Haney family,
May God Bless all of you during this time. I was in the Navy with Dave on board the USS Long Beach. He was my boss, but he was also my friend, more like an older brother. My prayers and heart go out to all of you. I am still very much in shock about Dave's passing. I've known Dave for a few years and feel very honored to have known him. I was given the opportunity to work more with Dave these last couple of years. He was always there full of energy, smiling (most of the time:)), a family man and always good to people around him. He was so proud of his family and always full of pride when speaking about them, especially his grandchildren. He lit up every time he spoke of hunting and fishing. He was such a good man - so very genuine and always wanting to help people. He has touched the lives of many and that is a blessing. I'm praying for all of you. I also wanted to share that Dave briefly appeared in my dream the other night. He looked happy and was smiling as he was sitting in a recliner staring straight ahead...he looked very much at peace. I remember when we used to gang up in dave's office, He always had a funny story to tell he was the master of story telling. A person like Dave crosses your path once in a life time. Nearly 18 years ago, you taking me in as your department specialist at Harmony IBM was a turning point in my life. I don't know why but you believed in me. That's you. You see things others just don't see. Maybe that's why so many people gravitated towards you. You bring out the best in people. Maybe it's your honesty and kindness. Maybe it's the way you tell things for what it is. Maybe it the way you make us laugh by cracking the perfect joke at the perfect moment. Maybe its how you carry yourself. Your confidence in your own skin but with no ego or arrogance. Maybe it's the way you lead by example. You always want to win at all cost but didn't want anyone else to lose. That's Dave Haney. You always had a master plan, or at least make chaos work itself out then have a beer latter. To this day, you're still one of the smartest guys I know. I'm gonna miss you. Dave, you've been the best friend a guy could have for over 30 years. I know there are so many people that consider you their best friend as well. You've touched so many lives in a very positive way. I will always remember the laughs, the stories of hunting and fishing and all the talks of our families while sitting there hunting in the duck blinds.
