Maj. David M. Heibel

Maj. (Ret.) David M. Heibel, 78, of Lebanon, PA, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, in the York Wellspan Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Schultz) Heibel for 55 years. He was born in Erie, PA on June 22,1943, to the late C. Richard Heibel and Pearl (Rhodes) Heibel. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children: Christine Heibel, wife of Thomas Horney, and Brian Heibel, husband of Christine (Klick) Heibel; two grandchildren, Austin Heibel and Anna Heibel; a sister Carolyn Brown, wife of Paul Brown, and a sister-in-law, Felicity Heibel and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Heibel. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6,2021 at 11:00 AM at Thompson Funeral Home, 126 S. 9th Street, Lebanon, PA. Viewing hours will be held Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 5-7 PM and on Monday morning from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 12:30 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave, Lebanon PA 17042.
