David Eugene Hunt Sr., 81, of Manvel, Texas, passed away on August 19, 2024. Born on July 28, 1943, David was a lifelong resident of Texas and a dedicated laboratory superintendent at Lyondell Bassell (Arco) from 1970 to 1997.

After his career he stayed busy working parttime at Home Depot and on Milton Schultz' ranch. David's favorite hobby and pastime was hunting. He enjoyed it with his brothers, sons, and grandsons. David was known for his hardworking nature, often engaging in activities that others might consider work, such as working on cars, reloading ammunition, or shelling pecans. Occasionally he found time to enjoy a puzzle and play some cards or dominoes.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Hunt; children, Davy (wife Karen), Jimmy, Kenny (wife Jill), Tommy (wife Aryka), Johnny (husband Chuck), and Becky (husband Andrew); grandchildren, Weston, Tommy, Kaden, Kassidy, and Meredith; great grandchildren Isabella and Alexa, and siblings, Billy and Martha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Glenn Hunt; twin brother, Michael; and brother, John.

David attended primary and middle school at Moye Military Academy and graduated from Devine High School. He furthered his education at Alvin Community College. He spent his career ensuring the highest standards at Lyondell Bassell, impacting many through his commitment and meticulousness.

A service will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 6502 County Rd 48, Manvel, TX, on September 6, 2024, at 1 pm. Following the service, guests are invited to join the family for a meal to share stories and memories at David and Loretta Hunt's home, 6631 Granbury Rd, Manvel, TX.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your local or favorite cancer fighting organization, honoring David's wishes.
