David Magnenat Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 10, 2014.
David E. Magnenat, Jr., was born March 6, 1964 in San Diego, CA and left this earth on December 3, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Jane, two daughters; Melanie Magnenat and Sarah (Jermar) Givens; and his parents, Dave Sr., and Sherry Magnenat all of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Magnenat in 1990; dog Mysti and numerous cats. Dave was born in San Diego, CA to loving parents David and Sherry. He spent his early years moving around the country and world, wherever the Navy sent the family – California, Kansas, Washington, Japan and Connecticut. After High School, the family landed in Washington where he met the love of his life, Mary Jane. Together they made a family including two beautiful daughters, Melanie and Sarah, and son-in-law Jermar.

Dave will be missed by his many friends and colleagues. At the time of his death, Dave worked for Adcomm Engineering. Previously, Dave was the Deputy Director of Kitsap County CenCom 911, where he was instrumental in the design and installation of communications systems and a new building.

Dave was an Eagle Scott, former Boy Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He also belonged to the Masons, Mensa, APCO/NENA 911, and Project Management Institute. Dave was a graduate of Olympic College and Washington State University. Dave enjoyed games, Cribbage, walking in the woods, riding bikes, electronic gadgets, photography, music – both playing and listening, travel, computers, magick and sleight
of hand. David played the Accordion, guitars, mandolin, piano, drums and tin whistle. David's favorite foods were Homemade Tacos, Chicken Tortilla casserole, Shakey's Pizza, ice cream, mom's cheesecake, Ruffles and onion dip.

He had a great sense of humor, quick wit and beautiful voice. He was intelligent, thoughtful and kind. Dave encouraged me to be me, to grow, to find the things that made me happy. We will all miss him terribly.

There will be a Celebration of Life Party on January 10, 2015. Please email [email protected] for more information.
