David Moberly

David Scott Moberly was born November 18, 1950, in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Douglas and Catherine Moberly. He died March 9, 2017, peacefully at home in Palo Alto, CA, after a valiant two and a half year battle against acute myeloid leukemia.

David was a graduate of Washington High School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Throughout his career, he was a product design engineer in the computer and medical equipment industry, inventing and designing hardware for computers and computerized medical devices for Hewlett Packard, Apple, and Philips. He was a consummate engineer, collector, reader, movie fan, thinker, and solver of problems.

He was the loving husband of Cheryl Besden, adoring father of two children Daniel Moberly (Jenn) and Anya Rubin (Aaron), and proud grandfather of Mina Rubin. Grateful for his life are his two sisters Carol Flower and Judy Kukuk, and his two nephews Brady and Taghe Flower. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Douglas and Catherine Moberly.

Memorials may be sent in honor of David Moberly to the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, Stanford University, Stanford Development Services, PO Box 20466, Stanford, CA 94309, and/or to the American Society of Hematology, 2021 L Street NW, #900, Washington, DC 20036.
