David Parker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2014.

David Michael Parker, 50, passed into eternal peace on Sept. 16, 2014.  He was born in Passaic, N.J. and raised in Moyock. He was a graduate of the engineering school of Old Dominion University and a sales engineer with Siemens.  He loved his family, fishing, the beach and a good tuna steak.  He always helped anyone needing a hand and was generous nearly to a fault.  He was the hardest working man his family and friends ever knew.

He was predeceased by his father, Lloyd S. Parker.  Left to cherish his memory are wife, Terry; son Nolan; and daughter Claire  of Norfolk; mother Catherine; brother Michael (Shelley); and sister Sandra (Brad Reynolds) of Moyock; brother, Stephen (Donna) of Sunbury; and many extended family members in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19 at Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak Street, Moyock, followed by a graveside service for family.  Friends are invited to join the family after for a reception at Fellowship Baptist Church, 871 Tulls Creek Road, Moyock.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of America. Please visit www.Altmeyer.com to leave a note for the family.

We will miss David greatly but one day we will meet him again on the other side where God promises those who know him as Savior are waiting for the rest of us to catch up with David who I am sure is playing baseball with Jesus and maybe has caught up with Roberto Clemente as well. I love you David and know you are in a much better place.

I went to Jr. High and High School with David. He was one of those genuinely, deep down, good people that you meet. My sincerest condolences to all of David's family.
