David Smith Obituary
He began his life in Newton Falls, Ohio moving to Strong, AR when he was 8 years old. David attended school in the Strong Schools until his 11th year, when he elected to attend and graduate from Camp Robinson Military Academy where he earned the U.S. President's Physical Fitness award which was presented to him by Janet Huckabee.
David shadowed his father's footsteps anytime they could "kick around" in the shop where he began his passion for working with metal. At the age of 11, he talked his honorary "Papaw" Donald Ray Smith into allowing him to work around the shop at Pipe Systems Inc., where he worked and learned the technical skills behind his "art". David was a master fabricator and welder at Arkansas Gravel in Hampton, AR by day and a metal artist by night.
David will be welcomed in Glory by the family that precedes him; his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Martha "Tinsy" Smith; maternal grandparents, Donald and Barbara Jean Godfrey and his Aunt Kimberly Ford Smith.
Along with his parents, David's memories will be cherished forever by his daughter, Dani Laine Smith, born to him and Morgan Bumgardner on January 19, 2017; his brothers, Shane of Lawson, AR and Ernest of El Dorado; his sisters, Shannon Washington of El Dorado and Shelley (Jon) Busch of Benton, AR; his special honorary family, Freddy and Irene Bradshaw of Fordyce, AR, Roger and Bonnie Hayes of Strong, AR and Jamie and Alicia McCarty of Norphlet, AR and his nieces and nephews, Bobbi, Blane, Laken, Zach, Ethan, Gabe, Noah, Shayla, Cole and Nia.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Young's Chapel with Rev. Phillip Smith officiating and under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, 3 Columbus Cr., Floor 15, New York, NY 10019.

David I loved you and my family loved you. You were more than a friend you were our family. When we lost you we hurt and it's hard everyday knowing your gone but we all will reunite again in glory my dear dear friend.

Buddy and I will always remember the personable,easy going, energetic young man we knew. David was such a skilled and talented welder and prefab man.I know there aren't any words to console your family. Just know that you are loved and prayed for.

Never in a million years was I prepared to say goodbye. Had I known, I would've held on to you longer when i last seen you. Wouldn't have let you off the phone so soon. I took for granted that you would be here. You are super Dave. Invincible. I can't even believe it now. I don't think I've really come to terms that I will never again see those dark brown eyes again. And we all know what they say about Brown eyes. That was you. 100%. That stupid crazy laugh that drove me nuts for years. What I'd do to hear it today. David Paron, I love you. I love you bc you are you. You have been in my life since you entered this world. As a child there are few memories that you aren't in. As adults we entertained the thought of a relationship but knowing our history, we just couldn't chance it. But I loved you as much as anyone I've ever loved. And I never wanted to say goodbye. David, you will be missed tremendously. I'm praying for strength for your family. Our family. My most cherished memories of David are of him sharing God's love with the children in Guinea Grass, Belize. He played soccer, joked with them, and told them that Jesus loved them. I don't think there were many moments that they weren't huddled all around him. He had an impact on their lives. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

It was with great sadness that I heard of David's passing. I was a Deputy Sheriff with Dallas County where I came to know David. He was a young man with talent and showed respect for those he came in contact. The last time I saw David is when I and my wife were leaving the First Baptist Church in Fordyce where he made a special effort to come out and tell me hello and wish me a good week. I will miss him and what he was going to accomplish. I will see him again someday.
