David Jackson "Jack" Spangler LEBANON, Va. David Jackson "Jack" Spangler, age 80, departed this life on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home following a lengthy illness. Born April 26, 1932, in Lee County he was the son of the late Wesley and Verna Davidson Spangler. He had lived in Lebanon the past 53 years. He was a retired employee of Verizon and a member of the C.W.A. union. He was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church and the Lebanon Masonic Lodge No. 251 A.F. & A.M. Jack also served as a member of the Lebanon Town Council for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alice Allen Spangler, Lebanon; two daughters, Becky Hill and husband, Rodney, Lebanon; and Lisa Henley and husband, Phillip, Lebanon; three sisters, Jean Sadler, Buchanan, Mich.; Patsy Wagner and husband, Randal, Independence, Ky.; and Mildred Sekan and husband, Paul, Florida; four grandchildren, Allyson Justus and husband, Nathan, Eric Hill, Abby Henley and Olivia Henley; three great-grandchildren, Madison Hill, Brayden Hill and Maggie Justus; also several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to caregiver, Amber Miller, Home Nursing Company especially Megan Wade and Steve Fletcher. A private family service and entombment will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum chapel with the Rev. Tom Edwards and the Rev. Keith Kahlbaus officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lebanon Baptist Church, P.O. Box 488, Lebanon, Va., 24266.
