| Send Sympathy Card David M Steindler, 88, of Richmond VA, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2016, surrounded by his family David was born in Elkins, WV on June 12, 1928 to Roman and Lilly Steindler and was married to Jean P Steindler, also of Elkins, WV, for 66 blissful years. David was a veteran with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) where he played basketball out of Quantico, VA and made the all-Navy team in 1946 & 47. He then accepted a scholarship to play basketball for the West Virginia Mountaineers and graduated in 1952. Dave worked 40 years in the telephone business starting with C&P of WV in 1952 and retiring in 1992 with Bell Atlantic. He was an avid golfer throughout his lifetime and a member of Richmond CC for over 30 years. David is survived by his wife Jean P Steindler, brother Robert Steindler and his wife Kelly of NY; son Jeff Steindler of Charleston, WV; son Tom Steindler and his wife Paula Steindler of Richmond, VA; grandchildren Katie College and her husband Brian College of Youngsville, LA and Lindsey and Kelly Steindler of Richmond, VA...
