BUCYRUS: David R. Swartz, 48, of 310 Woodlawn Ave. Bucyrus, died Monday evening at Heartland of Bucyrus. He was dignosed with cancer a year ago.
He was born May 31, 1960 in Bellevue, Ohio and was the son of the late Phillip and Carol (Bratt) Swartz.
On November 13, 1994 he married Linda (Dant) Swartz and she survives along with their daughter, Autumn Swartz; David is also survived by his former wife, Lori Sullivan and their children, sons, Ryan Oswald and wife Ginelle U.S. Navy, David Swartz and wife Katie of Springfield, Ill.; a daughter Amber Swartz U.S. Navy; a grandchild, Rosalyn Oswald; three brothers, Bryan Swartz and wife Rebecca of Clearwater, Fla., Tobby Swartz, Tyler Swartz and wife Serrena all of Columbia, S. Carolina; and a sister, Dawn Smith and husband Ronnie of S. Carolina.
He was a 1978 graduate of Seneca East High School and after high school entered the U.S. Navy and served as an electrician for ten years. David moved to Bucyrus in 1988 and managed several area restaurants, but had worked at Whirlpool in Marion for the past several years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bucyrus.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be Friday May 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Don Neumann officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #181 of Bucyrus will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galion. An educational fund is being set up for Autumn thru Farmers Citizens bank and can be done thru the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy made to left at www.munzpirnstill.com.
