Deborah Ellen Bates, age 70, of Stockbridge, GA passed away on December 21, 2018. She was born to the late Aloysius and Mona Bintz on August 9, 1948 in Zanesville, OH. She was united in marriage to Jimmy Bates on April 16, 1988 in Akin, SC. She was an active member of the Stockbridge First United Methodist Church and she also participated in several organizations and projects such as breakfast for the Stockbridge High School Football Team, Backpack Buddies for Stockbridge Elementary, Project 82 Kenya and Orphan Aid Liberia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Aloysius L. Bintz, III. and Mona Lee Taylor Bintz.

She leaves to cherish her memory her five children; Chris (Kari) Bates of Charlotte, NC, David Watson of Stockbridge, GA, Debbie Watson of Monroe, GA, Tina Bates of Newnan, GA and Donna (Ronnie) Martin of McDonough, GA, her 11 siblings; Paul (Mava) Seaman of California, Cynthia (Doug) Hensley of Memphis, Al (Jan) Bintz of Knoxville, Kitty Borosh of Atlanta, Rex (Vanessa) Bintz of Memphis, Shelly Alexander of Memphis, Mark (Vicki) Bintz of Memphis, Susan (Gary) Wickham of Ohio, Chuck (Jane) Askey of Oregon, Kevin (Jill) Bintz of Mississippi, John (Linda) Bintz of Mississippi, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home located at 376 Fairview Rd in Stockbridge, GA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1 PM at Stockbridge First United Methodist Church located at 4863 N. Henry Blvd in Stockbridge, GA. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens
