Deborah Brown Williams, 64, of Charleston, WV died peacefully Wednesday, July 16, 2014, after a five year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, at the Hubbard Hospice House surrounded by her loving family and friends. Debbie was a 1967 graduate of Charleston High School and a 1971 graduate of Morris Harvey College.
She was a retired elementary school teacher from Kanawha County Schools. Debbie was a member of Grace Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Jean Case Brown, sister, Barbara L. Brown, and grandparents, Russell and Mildred Case.
Surviving Debbie are her sons, Stephen S. Williams of Charleston, WV and Russell A. Williams of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine F. Brown of Charleston, WV, brother, Robert “Casey” Brown of Mabank, Texas and adopted daughter, Samantha S. Stone of Charleston, WV, all of whom she love beyond measure. Her grandchildren, Taylor and Jack Williams, brought even greater joy to Debbie’s life.
Debbie was a dedicated and passionate teacher as evidenced by the many students who’s lives she touched, an avid soccer fan, and a pioneer of the soccer program at Capital High School where her sons played. She was not only a loving mother and grandmother, but a kind, beautiful, caring, and intelligent woman who handled herself with dignity. We have known Deborah Jean since college days and have loved her and her family all that time. Her smile, laugh and her love for her family and the Lord Jesus will never be forgotten. She was a great giver of gifts but the greatest gift that she gave us was her love and memories. We know that Jesus enabled her to have Hope during these last years and she shared His Hope with everyone she met and knew. We ask God to bless everyone who was with her during her last days.

I feel cheated that I didn't know Debbie long before we met on Facebook. She was so sweet and kind, and she would always cyber-swat me when I got out of line. What a wonderful lady. You'll be missed by so many.

To Debbie's family,
Sincere sympathy to each of you in this difficult time. I was priviledged to work with Debbie several years ago. She was a dedicated educator and a very creative teacher. She really cared about her students. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

My thoughts are with your family especially Cathi. Debbie was always so nice to me the times when I was around her and she was lots of fun. So sorry Debbie went thru this awlful illness but now she is with God and looking down on all of her family. There was a period when Debbie would call me and we would talk and she always made me laugh. What a wonderful and positive person!!

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Debbie. She was a wonderful friend and a terrific woman. She adored her children and grandchildren. We used to sit together and watch our boys play little league baseball together. Our boys went through school together all the way to Capital High School. She was always positive and gracious. I will miss her but I'm happy she now rests peacefully in the arms of our Lord. Her suffering is over. God bless you Stephen and Russell and may He provide you comfort during this difficult time. God bless you too, Cathie and Casey. Love, Teresa Wiersteiner-Ansell (mom to Ryan and Ross Anderson)

Debbie, I am going to miss talking to you. I admired you very much and I was moved by your dedication to homeless animals. You were a warrior in this battle and you did not lose. You were just promoted to a higher level where you can help others fight. You were good to me as a child and a friend to me as an adult. Russell, Stephen and Samantha...I am so sorry for your loss.
