Dena Dentone Foster

With heavy hearts we share that Dena Ann Dentone Foster, 62, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2025, at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. Dena was born on September 21, 1962, in St. Albans, Vermont. She had a full life that ended way too soon.

Dena loved the theater and acting. Through high school as Dorothy in ¨The Wiz¨ and studying theater at Emerson College, she was always on stage..so funny and making those around her feel happier. Time with Dena was an escape from the struggles of life. She had a way to put her own struggles aside and bring her bright light to those around her. She could turn on the light with the sound of her voice.

Later in her life, Dena attended the Vermont College of Fine Arts and completed the curriculum, all while alone raising a wonderful boy who has grown into a fine young man.

Dena pursued a diverse and compassionate career path that reflected her caring nature and dedication to others. She worked as a massage therapist, veterinary technician, and childcare provider-roles through which she touched many lives with her gentle presence and capable hands.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Max; siblings Sandra Kramer, Kathy (John) Giroux, and Dick (Christine) Foster; as well as several nieces and nephews. Dena was predeceased by her sister Sharon Rich and her parents Richard and Marilyn Foster.

Those who knew Dena will remember her great laugh and beautiful smile-gifts she shared freely and often. She brought warmth and light to those around her throughout her life. Her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
