Surrounded by loving family and friends, Denean Adelle Lindsay peacefully moved to the next journey of her life on October 27, 2013. Denean was born April 02 1966 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and moved to Rose Valley to live with her adopted family. Over the years Denean lived in Kamsack, Canora, moving to Regina in 1989 where she lived the remainder of her years. Throughout her life Denean faced significant health challenges. In 1994 she was permanently paralyzed. This was one of many challenges she courageously face. No obstacle stopped her from achieving the goals she set for herself and her family. Denean was blessed with many gifts. She had the ability to achieve and accomplish anything she set her mind to. At a young age she discovered her passion and love for music. She was a brilliant pianist with the voice of an angel. Over the years she shared her love of music with others teaching piano and voice. Denean had a vibrant personality, small in stature, huge in spirit. She loved raising her family, over the years admiring the people they have become. She embodied strength, courage, resiliency and endurance, all of which live on in her children. She spoke often that the greatest love in her life was her children. Denean loved learning and in 2003 she graduated from Hartford University with a PhD. in Psychology. Denean was creative, inquisitive and was an eloquent, creative writer. Denean was predeceased by her adoptive father, Dave Lindsay. She is survived by her children, Amanda Contreras (Billy), Jeremy Horbach, Shawn Horbach; the father of her children Bill Horbach; Denean's adopted mother Evelyn Lindsay; her sisters, Shannon Lindsay, Diane Melrose (Murray Melrose) and their children Kim Melrose- Wyatt (Paul), Stacey Bereza (Greg); Denean's birth mother, Linda Hawke and the Hawke family. Special thank you to Ian and Jan White for always being there for Denean and her family. Thank you to the RGH Emergency, EMS, DR Swedlo, the staff on MPICU for their care and understanding. Denean's children will be putting in place an Educational Trust fund at the Conexus Credit Union, which will support persons with disabilities to achieve their goals of independence.
