Denise Boudreaux Obituary

Denise R. Boudreaux, 57, of New Orleans, formerly of Old Forge, died Oct. 18 after a valiant struggle with lung cancer.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Virginia "Betty" Gifford Riviello. A graduate of Marywood Seminary, East Stroudsburg University and Delgato College, New Orleans, she was a vice president of direct sales for Hibernia Bank of New Orleans, as well as being an entrepreneur and owner/operator of Event Planning in New Orleans. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church, Old Forge, and St. Mary's Church, New Orleans.

Surviving are two sisters, Deborah Verdetto, Forty Fort; and Lorna Nehme, Miami; her goddaughter, April Valvano; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

The funeral will be today with services at 3:30 p.m. in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, by the Rev. Michael Salvagna, C.P., assistant pastor of St. Ann's Parish, Scranton. Private interment will be in Old Forge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 until time of services.

I'm so sorry to hear about Denise. I worked with her for a while in Birmingham, AL, and spoke with and visited her several times in New Orleans. I had been trying to find her when I came across her obituary. I'm so sorry for your loss, she was a spectacular presence on this earth and will be missed greatly.
