Denny you were such a nice man and good neighbor to talk to. It was always a pleasure seeing you on the street and stopping to talk to us, always with a smile to share. You are missed by us and I am sure you are holding your wife's hand in heaven.

Coach talked me into coming back as a senior at Alma. He could be pretty persuasive. Thank goodness I listened;, had a great time and will always remember that year. Thanks for teaching me a lot more than football, Coach.

As kids living next door to your family I remember it was always fun being with your family. One day I was with my mom waiting at the school to pick my older brother up from football practice that Denny was leading. He came out of the school with the kids, his signature bright smile on his face. I stuck my head out of the car window and hollered "Hi Denny!" My mom scolded me, saying I shouldn´t address an adult that way, that I should refer to him as MR Stolz. By then Denny had reached the car, and he reached in, ruffled my hair, told my mom..."well, she can call me Denny, that´s my name! ". As a shy kid this meant the world to me. It affirmed what I knew about Denny, he was a friend to all and a truly kind man.

A "great" man who always loved his players, and helped me make it through MSU during some very trying times.
