Diane Burg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 16, 2016.
Diane Dean Cooper (Dee, DeeDee) Burg 68, of Stafford, VA passed away after an extended and courageous battle with cancer on March 16, 2016 at her home attended by members of her immediate family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Jack, her son J. William Burg, his wife Lisa (Moriconi), and two daughters, Karen Fox, her husband Timothy and Michelle Shifflett. She was the beloved and doting "Nana" to the seven grandchildren – Allison Burg, Emily Burg, Hannah Burg, Caroline Burg, LeeAnne Rinker, her husband Terry, Catherine Courture and Laura Couture, and three great grandchildren – Aurelia, Maria and Julia Rinker. She is also survived by her brothers, sisters and two sisters in law, Rita Farrar, her husband John, Carol Armstrong, her husband James, Ralph Cooper, his wife Sue, Chester Cooper, Jr, Randolph Cooper, his wife Janet, Ronald Cooper, his wife Pam, Patricia Mastranni, her husband Vince and Virginia Gavin, her husband Joseph as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
Dee credits "Life" as her primary source of education after attending Stafford High School. She woke up happy every day, had an incredible sense of humor and embraced life to the fullest. Dee never met a stranger and all were welcomed to her home. She could be as tough as nails and opinioned when she needed to be.
She dearly loved her family, took pride and pleasure in their life accomplishments and gave comfort in times of difficulty and challenge. Much like her mother, Jeanette, Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved to decorate her home and revel in the wonder. When she was able, she would help with the decorations at "Cooperville" and took delight in the joy that it brought to her family and others, especially the children. She also loved participating in her niece Renee's Halloween Barn and was proud to be part of it the year Renee won the Halloween contest on Good Morning America.
Dee was charitable to a fault, always willing to offer help to people in need of assistance without thought or question. Her passions came from the simple things in life including her home, nature, long walks, flowers, gardening, relaxing at her cottage on the lake and playing cards with family and friends. Everyone that knew her liked her and she liked everyone. Her warm smile and open heart were her greatest assets. She left this world a better place.
A celebration of life will take place for family and friends. She will be sorely missed but will live in our hearts forever.

Dear Mr. Burg, Will, Lisa and Family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss of such a sweet lady. I had the pleasure of talking to her when she would call the office to talk to her son. She is no longer in pain and now will be watching from above. You are all in my Prayers.

Jack -
Words cannot begin to express how my heart hurts for you. I was honored to have known Dee and enjoyed talking and laughing with
her, especially when she shared stories about something you were
building that let her display her beloved collections.
Her face would light up with pride and love when she spoke of you.
Please find comfort in knowing heaven has gained an angel and you have a loved one watching over you.
