Diane Jolly Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 21, 2025.
Diane (McQuiston) Jolly, 67, of Big Sandy, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, after an unexpected, short battle with lung cancer.

Born on May 28, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Jim and Dorothy (Campbell) McQuiston, Diane had an adventurous spirit. As she often said, she "got to Texas as fast as she could" at the age of 20, making it her cherished home. She spent nearly 40 years in Houston before embracing a more serene life in East Texas.

Diane was a devoted fan of the Houston Texans, never missing a home game, even after moving four hours away. She found immense joy in international travel, cherished time spent with her friends and delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and beloved dogs.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Nicole Escoto, and her husband John; four grandchildren, Dakota Turner of Temple, Logan Turner of Liberty Hill, Montana Harris of Gatesville, and Zoey Turner of Big Sandy; and four great-grandchildren, Tre Pitts, Kingston Pitts, Adalynn Harris, and Adonis Turner. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Kenny McQuiston; and her sister, Gail Gerhart.

Memorial donations in Diane's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society to support lung cancer research.

My heat is sadden. Diane was my friend of many many years. We laughed a lot and cried a lot too. We shared our dreams of ourselves and our children. I´m amazed that Nicole is so much like her Mama (beautiful, loving and giving). We loved good food, good Christian concerts and a good sunny day by the pool. I will always remember my dear sweet friend of much loving memories.

So sad to learn of Diane's passing. The last I saw Diane, was at Gail's funeral. I spent a lot of time at McQuistons when I was a kid. Gail and I were very good friends and Diane and my sister were friends as well. Such a cute kid she was, and grew to be a beautiful woman. Prayers and deep sympathies for all of you. Sincerely Barb Davis

Diane and I served in children's ministry and sat together every Sunday in church. She was a great friend for many years, intelligent, sweet spirited and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart. She has now gone to her real home in heaven where she will suffer no more pain and will joyfully serve the Lord. Nicole, my prayers are with you and your family.

Nicole & Family, I am so sorry to learn of your mom's battle with cancer/passing. Thank you Jesus that while we still deeply grieve it is not a grief like that of those who have no hope. We know goodbye on earth is really just a see you real soon in heaven. May the Lord bless, keep and hold you all. Heather

Diane was an amazing friend to me for over 23 years. We worked together at CenterPoint and she was probably the smartest person I worked with. We became fast friends and went to almost all of the Houston Texans games together, even after she moved to Big Sandy.

I loved Diane, and will miss her immensely.

Your loss has stunned me, Cuz. I will miss you so much, which seems impossible since we've only seen each other a few times as adults. Our closeness was Facebook produced, but meant the world to me! And Steeler/Texan games just won't be the same. RIP Diane. You are forever in my heart. Nicole and family, my sympathy and prayers are with you. May God grant you peace and comfort in your grief.
