Diane Kallus, 80, of Taylor, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, September 17th, 2022.
Born, Diane Kay Smith, January 19th, 1942 to Elmer and Mary Smith in Taylor. She graduated from Taylor High School, Class of 1960. June 25th of that same year, she married her sweetheart, the love of her life, Jerry Henry Kallus.
In 1972 Diane and Jerry became parents. They were blessed with their 1st daughter Nicole (Nikki) in January and their 2nd daughter Candice (Candy) in September.
She retired from City National Bank where she worked as a teller for many years. She loved her job and adored the people she worked with.
Diane dearly loved her grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, and Phoebe. She was Momo to all of them. The thing she loved most was spending time with them and giving them hugs and kisses. She always had her precious chihuahua, Katie, in her lap.
She loved to spend time outside pruning and watering her flowers and watching them grow. She also loved to go shopping. She and Jerry never missed Sunday morning mass on TV.
Diane lived a wonderful life and loved her entire family and all her countless friends. She will be missed by so many.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Elmer Smith; grandmother, Mama Hill; two brothers, Gaylon, and Jimmy; and her great-grandson, Riley.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jerry Kallus; daughters, Nikki and husband, Ray, and Candy and husband, Todd; grandchildren; Cameron, Gavin, and Phoebe; brothers, Gene and Butch; sisters, Vickie and Linda; and countless nieces and nephews.

So saddened to hear of Diane’s passing. I will miss her smile and wit. She never failed to make me smile and appreciate small town living. Nikki, we talked a lot about you and my nails lol. Going back to the days Jerry worked for my uncle Raymond and seeing the admiration and love between those twoin my thoughts, prayers, and always my heart. Remember Matthew 5:4 promises comfort to those who mourn and I have found that God sends angels to accomplish that task with those who look a lot like friends and family.
