Diane F. Ness, 59, Detroit Lakes, MN, died Thursday at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes. Diane Faye Haugen was born June 1, 1945 in Fosston, MN to Roald & Natalie (Melander) Haugen. She attended elementary school in Gully, MN and is a 1963 graduate of Gonvick High School. Diane was united in marriage to Andor ""Andy' Ness, July 6, 1963 in Gully. They lived in Park Rapids and Bemidji, MN prior to moving to Detroit Lakes in 1964. They operated Andy's Standard prior to founding Ness Granite Works. She had battled leukemia for the past 7 months. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a church circle and the Mrs. Jaycees. Diane enjoyed her children & grandchildren; attending her son, Casey's baseball games, traveling, relaxing by the pool, cheering on the Minnesota Twins, cooking and working with her family at the granite works. She is survived by her husband: Andor ""Andy' - Detroit Lakes; 2 daughters: Kelly Larson - Detroit Lakes; Kristen (Jeff) Branden - Detroit Lakes; 2 sons: Andy Jr. (Alice) - Detroit Lakes; Casey - Detroit Lakes; 9 grandchildren: Brittni & Sadie Larson, Jeffrey Jr., (Holly), Amanda, Alice & Amalea Branden; Ashley, Alyssa and Remington Ness; 2 brothers: Dennis (Darlene) Haugen - New Rockford, ND & Donovan (Mary) Haugen - Gonvick, MN Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, Rev. Daniel Babine, officiating. Intombment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday at the David-Donehower Funeral Home and at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
