Dieter Mews Obituary
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Klara Mews and his brother, Heinz Mews. Dieter is survived by his wife, Susan Mews; Daughters, Kira (Greg) Brunton, Natalia (Ben) Burke, Laura (Nick) Bucher and Ashley (Dani) Parnell; grandchildren, Hailey, Grace, Henry, Evie, James, Louisa, John, Mariel, Ryan, Lucas and Clara, as well as his dear friends and family in both Germany and the U.S.
Dieter never met a stranger. Friends and family will remember his great hospitality, his vibrance, and his rejoicing in others good fortune.
Dieter's passions included family, travel, food and wine, soccer, and his German heritage. He was a talented cook and craftsman. Friday was his favorite day of the week. He and Susan, the love of his life, celebrated "Cosmo Night," a toast to past and present family and friends and a reflection of gratitude.
He was dedicated to his wife, children, and grandchildren, with whom he leaves a legacy of living life boldly and with love.
Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 11am-12pm. Service will begin at 12pm with full military honors to follow. Cooper Funeral Home is serving the family.

Dieter kam zirka alle 2 Jahre noch Deutschland um seine Familie in Süddeutschland und seine Cousine Gretel in Querfurt zu besuchen. Es war immer wie ein kleines Fest wenn er zu uns kam. Unsere Kinder freuten sich riesig, denn dann unternahmen wir etwas zusammen und tauschten uns abends über die Verhältnisse bei uns in Deutschland und bei Dieter in den Staaten aus. Natürlich besuchte er auch jedes Mal das Grab seiner Eltern hier bei uns.
Als besonderen Moment haben wir seine Hochzeit mit Susan bei uns auf der Burg in Erinnerung.
Bei jedem Besuch spürten wir Dieters Liebe und im letzten Jahr haben wir seine Tochter Kira kennen lernen dürfen.
Lieber Dieter, du wirst immer in unseren Herzen weiterleben.!
