I used to work day to day with Dina in Toronto for many years. After which she went to Coke, and eventually moved to Calgary, I moved to Manitoba. After not keeping in touch for many, many years we were able to meet up in BC for a long weekend, it was as if no time had passed at all, we laughed (mostly her), played stupid card games (her idea), and drank lots & lots of wine. I recall she showed up with her dog and her water pillow (makes me smile every time I think of her). I was just thinking of her the other day and couldn't find her on facebook and found out that she had passed and was so saddened. She was a bright light that will be missed in this world.

Words, words so warmly and well spoken by family and friends as Dina was remembered yesterday. I regret that I only knew Dina as a little girl whom her grandmother, my Auntie Phyllis, welcomed with love into the family. Phyllis was generous and giving in her life as well. Dina loved and was loved and reached out with her Pay it Forward Campaign knowing "we are stronger when we are given love". Kenny Loggins
"It seems to me when something really ought to be true then it has a very powerful truth". "Love... is only a glimpse or a parable of an embracing, incomprehensible reality...the eternal breaking in on the temporal." Marilynne Robinson, Gilead
"God so loved the World that he gave his only Son,so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." John 3:16 Bible

Dina's mother Norma is our dear friend. Even though we only met Dina a few times, her vibrancy and intelligence were evident. We knew how wonderful she was through her mother's updates of her life in Calgary. Her loss is hard to absorb or understand. She contributed so much to so many. We share the sadness of all who loved Dina.

No words can truly describe this beautiful, loving, kind and funny woman who I knew and spent memorable moments with for too short a time. I will think of her often and smile.

I was a recipient of her :Pay it Forward" campaign. She was lovely, sweet and visited me in my home a few times and cooked for me also. I know she is in a better place and out of pain at last.
