Dolores Bennett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 10, 2025.
Dolores "Dee" Bennett (née McAllister), age 90, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Born on May 31, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dee was the daughter of Rose and Joseph McAllister. She pursued her education at St. Boniface Business School in Philadelphia and went on to dedicate her career to caring for others as a nursing assistant at St. Katharine Drexel's Motherhouse in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Later in life, Dee brought her warmth and welcoming spirit to the entertainment scene in Myrtle Beach, where she worked as an attendant at both the Palace Theater and Legends in Concert. Her presence added a special touch to these venues that brought joy to countless visitors.

Dee was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Bennett and Francis Kurfuerst, her parents Rose and Joseph McAllister, and her son-in-law Frank Snitcher. She is lovingly remembered by her children: daughters Kathryn Snitcher and Karen Kurfuerst (Kevin Bartley), and son Francis Kurfuerst (Britt Logan). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Michael Snitcher, Ryan Snitcher (fiancée Amanda Burke), Kristin Snitcher, and Eric Snitcher. She is also survived by her sister Rose Kinney and brother Joseph McAllister (Cheryl).

Dee found joy in simple pleasures-reading magazines and newspapers, solving crossword puzzles-and especially in time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren hold dear the many cherished memories of summer visits with her in Myrtle Beach. These visits were filled with laughter and adventure: dinner shows; performances at the Palace Theater and Legends in Concert; strolls through Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing; rounds of mini golf; walks along the boardwalk, Springmaid Pier, and Garden City Pier; meals at River City Café; sweet treats from Krispy Kreme; and cruising down Ocean Boulevard.

Her family will carry forward these treasured moments as a testament to the love she shared so generously throughout her life.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dolores's neighbor Mike Mallory and visiting nurse Kathy Marrero for all of their help, support, and compassion.

A private service will be held in accordance with the family's wishes.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
