Domenic Donato

Domenic Donato, 68, of El Cajon, CA, suddenly passed away on January 26, 2024 surrounded by his family. His loss was completely unexpected and his family is profoundly saddened.

Domenic was born in Toronto Canada on August 17, 1955 to Celestino and Francesca Donato, the oldest of four boys. In 1966, the family moved to El Cajon, CA, where he soon began to work in the family restaurant business. After graduating from Granite Hills High School, Domenic continued a career in the restaurant industry. In 1978, Domenic married and became a devoted husband and soon after a loving father to three.children. Domenic and his brother, Otto, owned and ran Donato's Italian Restaurant in Alpine, CA , from 1984 until they retired in July, 2023.

Domenic was preceded in death by his father, Celestino. He is survived by his mother, Francesca and his brothers, Otto, John and Paul; his wife of 45 years Mary, his children Sabrina, Megan and Casey; his grandchildren Hailey, Cooper, Mackenzie and Hayden. Domenic is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Domenic lived a humble, selfless life. He was a caretaker and a peacemaker. He was a wonderful son, an awesome big brother, and a hard working family man. He had a positive outlook on life, a love for his wife, children and grandchildren, and a passion for football. Go Chargers!

Domenic was a gentle beautiful soul who will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
