Donald C Battalino

Formally of Manchester CT. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Miller) Battalino of 59 years of marriage and their 3 daughters and spouses, Cheryl and Frank Minardi of Oviedo FL, Laura and Scott Werner of Glastonbury CT and Donna Battalino of East Hampton CT. Papa had 4 grandchildren he loved very much, Zachary and Daniel Minardi and Madison and Nicholas Werner. Donald also leaves a very dear sister, Amelia Battalino of Rocky Hill CT and a cherished nephew Richard Battalino of Old Lyme CT. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Nellie (Marone) Battalino and his brother Michael Battalino of Old Lyme CT. Donald also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews and dear friends who had become like family to him.

Donald was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, class of 1957 and served 4 years in the Army. He was known for many years for his wonderful ability in sales and eventually went into business with two colleagues to create Hobbytyme Distributors Inc. of East Hartford CT.

Donald was an avid golfer from his early teens when he caddied at Wethersfield Country Club to his long and happy membership with good friends at Manchester Country Club.

True to Donald's love for people, he was a true leader and organizer. He was involved in many organizations including his past presidency for the Manchester chapter of UNICO.

A memorial service will be held in Rocky Hill CT on Thursday November 3rd at 10:00am at St. James Church, also known as St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, 767 Elm St.. Burial will be private at the discretion of the family. The family is requesting if you wish to make a donation in Donald's name to do so with the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
