Donald Garcia Obituary
69, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 30, 2016. Donald served 20 years with the Indianapolis Police Department, working mostly in the Accident Investigation and Hit and Run Divisions. He will be dearly missed by his dearest friend, Pat Dodson; his siblings, Gerry, David, Joel (Cathy), Jim and Jody; his close cousins Bobbie Spelucin and Tom; and his "uncle" Jimmie Vornholt. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4pm until the time of service at 6pm in Family Funeral Care. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Indianapolis Police Foundation (www.indypolicefoundation.org)

Sorry for the passing of Don. We were friends and classmates in New Britain, and again made acquaintance in the Army. We reconnected a few years ago and shared some good calls and IM's. God bless him and all who mourn him

Rest in Peace cousin. We were born twelve days apart and were as close as brothers growing up. Your tragic wounding while serving Indianapolis early in your career inspired me to enter Law Enforcement where I served for 30+ years. Thanks for hosting me for the "500" many times. Don was my cousin (actually his mother was my cousin). The family left Connecticut over 40 years ago and eventually we lost touch, until we met again on Facebook over a year ago. I am grateful to the friends that were there for him up to the end. May he rest in peace.

Nothing new is ever created without one thing colliding into another. And something new is created when a person you know dies.
