Donald Neal Jacobs, born on October 19, 1935, in Steubenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Wimauma, Florida. He was 89 years old.

Don was raised in Annapolis, Maryland, where he began a life marked by dedication to service, family, and community. Don served in the National Guard of Maryland as a reserve of the U.S. Army while a student and later continued his service with the National Guard of Pennsylvania while attending Penn State College of Optometry. His commitment to both learning and country reflected the values that would guide him throughout his life.

After completing his studies, Don embarked on a long and respected career in optometry. He owned and practiced across several counties in Maryland before retiring from his Pearle Vision franchise in Glen Burnie Md in 2013.Known for his professionalism and care for patients, Don built lasting relationships through his work until his retirement.

In 2020, Don and Pat relocated permanently to Florida to enjoy his retirement years. There he continued to embrace the activities he loved most-especially sports and card games. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Don followed all sports with great interest. He was also an avid pitch player who cherished regular games with his best friends.
