Sheila Mary Ruby Corbett, 75, of Frederick, MD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 31, 2013 at the Kline House in Mt. Airy, MD. She was born to the late Ernest and Edith Ruby in Worcester, MA on August 6, 1938.

Sheila married Richard Lewis Corbett in 1962 in Auburn, MA. They were married for 27 years before his death in 1989.

She graduated from the St. Anne Academy, Marlborough, MA in 1956. Before getting married, Sheila worked for the C.I.A. at the U.S. Embassy in Paris and always maintained a love of the French culture. Sheila graduated from Mount Saint Mary's in 1977 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology.

She is survived by her children: Richard and his wife Angela of Cincinnati, OH; Ross and his wife Kathy of Cross Junction, VA; Lynne and her husband Eddie of Smithsburg, MD; and Laura and her husband Eric of Hagerstown, MD; her nine grandchildren: Tyler, Cody, Laura, Kristi, Jace, Sydney, Nate, Carson, and Luke; and three great-grandchildren: Landen, Camden and Peyton. Sheila is survived by her brother, Joseph Ruby of North Grafton, MA and sister, Bernice Handy of Holden, MA.

There was a private memorial service held on January 3, 2014. Her family shared memories and celebrated the many lessons that Sheila taught them. She was a constant advocate and support to her children. Her endless love and attention to her family will be missed every day.
