Donald Edward KIRKPATRICK

On April 22, 2022, Don Kirkpatrick passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie with his daughters by his side. He was 82 years old. Beloved husband of the late Dianne Kirkpatrick (nee Hagan). Predeceased by his brother, Wallace Kirkpatrick. Loving and cherished father of Jillian Paton and Katherine Kirkpatrick (Jamie Nightingale). Proud Papa of Samuel, Benjamin, Geoffrey and Victoria Paton and James and Patrick Nightingale. Don was a graduate of Barrie Central Collegiate and went on to study Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto. He worked for the City of Barrie as a Professional Engineer for over 25 years and served the City of Barrie as an Alderman. He was a member of the Barrie Rotary Club and sat on the executive committee of the Barrie Probus Club for many years. Papa Don was happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy. A private family Memorial Service will take place. To honour Don's memory, donations can be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital where Don received such excellent care, or to YMCA Camp Kitchikewana, the summer camp that Don chose to send his daughters and 6 grandchildren.
