DONALD MARTIAN Obituary
The passing of Mr. Don Martian, beloved husband of Rosalie, age 75 years of Saskatoon and formerly of Allan, occurred peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Royal University Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon. Rite of Committal will take place in St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Cemetery, Allan, SK. Don is survived by his loving wife Rosalie; three sons Darren (Carla), Todd, and Brent (Sandra); three grandsons Zachary, Jackson and Tyson; two sisters Eileen (Clem) Godbout and Myrna Martian; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Gary in infancy, and by his parents Theodore and Annie (Scharback) Martian. Don was born in Allan on May 31, 1940 and took his schooling in Allan. He farmed in the area and in 1962 he married Rosalie Moldenhauer and they continued farming until his retirement in 2004. During his farming years, Don also worked at the Allan Potash Mine, was a Hail Adjuster and was involved in many other business interests. Don was an avid ball player and fan and was invited to Houston's training camp as a young pitcher. He was a registered pilot and for many years owned his own plane. He was a member of the Allan K of C, served on Allan Town Council and was involved with Minor hockey. His retirement years were spent at the lake, visiting with friends on coffee row and doing his pastel artwork. Special thanks to the Drs. and nursing staff at RUH 5000 and the staff at the Cancer Clinic.
