DONALD MURRAY MONTAGUE March 4, 1937 April 17, 2010 Donald Murray Montague passed away at Royal University Hospital on April 17, 2010. He was born in St. Boniface Hospital, March 4, 1937, and raised in Redditt, ON. He worked as a lineman for the CN, from 1955 1959, and then joined the Saskatoon Police Force July 2nd 1959. He rose through the ranks, retiring as Deputy Chief in 1994. He was very proud to have served four Lieutenant Governors of Saskatchewan. He was an Honorary Aide for Her Honour Dr. Sylvia Fedoruk, Principal Driver for their Honours, Jack Wiebe, and Dr. Lynda Haverstock, and driver trainer for a few months, His Honour Dr. Gordon Barnhart. He was Past Master of all the Masonic Lodges he was involved with, but was very involved with Lodge Asquith 146, now Asquith Harmony 75 A.F. & A.M. He married Peggy (Margaret Ellis) in 1957, together they raised three children, daughter, Dawn (Rick) McNally, Ryan, Trevor; son, Ian (Shelly), Michael, Elizabeth; son, Robert (Sharleen) , Sean, Jennifer, and Megan. His greatest joys were his grandchildren and their achievements. He was very proud of every one of them. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Frank and Agnes Montague; by two sisters, Grace Montague and Frances McKinlay; and by infant daughter, Sharon Leslie in 1964. He is survived by brothers, Ian (Marg) Montague, North Bay, ON, Ray (Lorraine) Montague, Winnipeg, MB; and sister, Joanne (Russ) Kotanko, Kelowna BC; sister-in-law, Sandy Montague; numerous nieces and nephews, and Peggy's family: mother-in-law, Edna Meikle; sister, Betty (Gordon) Howat; brother, Earl (Beth) Meikle; sister, Lois (Kurt) Chalmers; and brother, Jim (Cindy) Meikle. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th Ave. N.) with interment at St. John's Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to [email protected] Arrangements are entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME, 244-5577.

Murray will be remembered as a good friend ; we share memories of growing up in Redditt ; school , swimming , playing road hockey , ball , the blueberry shed and the store , moving into one anothers homes ,and all the things we enjoyed at that age .
