Donald and I met in the 1st grade at Gregory Elementary School in Wilmington, NC. He along with fellow classmates George Cliette, Jerome Fennell, Warren Campbell, Frederick Baldwin, Robert Hill and myself Sam Pugh bonded more and became the best friends throughout high school at Williston Jr and Sr High in Wilmington. NC. When we were not attending school, we played lots of basketball and a card game named Bid Whist. Whenever Donald made a good play or one of us made a mistake, he would tease you by laughing and making fun at you...rubbing it in so to speak. That was his presonality back then. We all graduated from Williston Sr High School in 1961 and went different ways. On behalf of the rest of guys and myself living Robert Hill passed 2 years ago we send our deepest heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the family. May God bless you as you grieve the loss of your love one and our beloved friend. May Donald rest in peace!

Remembering my brother, his gentleness of soul and spirit--- so expressive in his love of gardening, the love he showed me as his sister throughout his life, and complete devotion to Stephanie and Kareem. When he took those vows so many years ago, he meant them, Stephanie: 'in sickness and in health, till death do us part'-- as surely you, my dear sister. May God's love strengthen and comfort you and Karim in the days and years to come. Know that I am always here to walk beside you.
