Don Wike, age 76, of Hudsonville, Michigan, was called to his Heavenly home on January 8, 2023. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania March 20, 1946, to Verna (Hostetter) and Franklin Wike who preceded him in death. He married Nancy, the love of his life, March 28, 1975, in Elkhart, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter Kellie and Jon Laskowski of Hudsonville, Ml; daughter, Andrea and Derek Johnston of Atlanta, GA; son, Jared and Sarah Wike of Hudsonville, Ml; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Franklin Jr. and Ruthanne Wike of Grandview, IN.
Don served his country in the Army, primarily in Germany and Vietnam from February 1965 to April 1967. He started his own company, West Michigan Business Products in 1986 and retired in 2009. Previously, he worked many years for Adams Remco. Family was very important to Don, and he loved spending time with them and especially teasing the grandkids. Other things he enjoyed was camping in his motorhome and spending many summers in South Haven at Cousins' Campground. His other favorite hobby was driving his Corvette, with Nancy, and building HO model trains. He had a very dry and funny sense of humor and a beautiful smile. From the onset of his Alzheimer’s diagnosis he handled it so valiantly, although not without the usual problems of the disease, but the last three years, God blessed him with a sweet and kind and cooperative spirit and he fought to the end. He loved the Lord and lived his life with honestly and integrity, and a great work ethic that was displayed to all He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Services for Don will be held on Wednesday, January 11, at 2:00 P.M., at his church, Georgetown Bible Church, 4114 Baldwin St. Hudsonville, MI 49426, officiated by Rev. Garry Koon, a longtime friend. There will be an hour visitation at 1:00 pm prior to the service at 2:00 pm A reception will follow.
On January 12, 2023, there will be a visitation at 11:00 am at Yoder Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, IN, followed by interment and military honors at Rock Run Cemetery in Goshen, IN. Dear Nancy and family - I am so sorry for your loss. I am not able to attend Don's service today but will continue praying for your family. I can see Don, Bill and Jim VanHouten all talking Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan football together and I can hear their laughter and see their smiles. My God comfort your hearts as only He can.

Don was a great guy even though being a ND fan. We had a lot of fun times with the Michigan,Notre Dame games and corvettes. I think my best memory was how he used to bribe his grandkids with skittles to say go Irish. He was a lot of fun and we send our condolences to Nancy and the Family.

Nancy, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Don was such a big part of the atmosphere and fun at Cousins, as were you.

Dear Nancy and Family,
We were privileged to have Don as one of our “Cousins Campground” buddies. We have lots of fond memories of the time we spent with him during the many camping seasons.
He enjoyed the rivalry that we all shared over the Michigan - Norte Dame football games each Fall at the park and he and Charlie Ratering tried to outdo each other with pranks on each other during that football weekend!
Nancy and family really stepped up when Don became ill and gave him loving and unselfish care for the rest of his life.
Don lived a good life and now it is time for him to find eternal rest and peace.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Love and Hugs to Nancy and Family,
Phil and Sharon Madarasz - Site 79
