Donita Sanger Rardin

Donita Sanger Rardin (67) passed away on October 29, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1957 in Newton, MA to H. Leland Sanger and Esther (Hicks) Sanger.

Donita's hard work and dedication to her studies earned her the honor of valedictorian of her class at Woodward School, Quincy, MA. She continued her education at Eastern Nazarene College, receiving a BA in Social Work and attended Virginia Commonwealth University to earn her Masters in Social Work, specializing in Health Services.

After college, Donita started her career with the Salvation Army in Quincy, MA where she started the Adult Day Services Program and served as Director for many years. After taking some time to travel overseas, Donita was involved with the opening of the Mary-Martha Learning Center in Hingham, MA, a residential learning facility for homeless mothers with young children. While there she developed the educational life skills training program which led to MMLC being the model shelter for the State. Donita served as Co-Director for 15 years. Later in her career, Donita was a Family Program Coordinator at the NH National Guard.

Donita had a wide array of interests, but her main enjoyment was her Newfoundland dogs. She was a member of the Newfoundland Club of New England. She loved attending events such as Newfie Fun Days and helping her dogs reach milestones and earn certificates. As a volunteer, Donita combined the love of her dogs and an after school program to help children with reading.

Donita's Bible based Christian faith was preeminent. As a Campton Baptist Church member, she taught Sunday School, maintained the responsive reading list, was on the Nurture and Outreach Committee, and participated in most church activities.

Donita is predeceased by her brother David H. Sanger. She is survived by her husband David A. Rardin; sister Heather (Len) Rideout; nephew Nicholas (Aviva) Rideout, nieces Erica (Ryan) Rideout, Elizabeth Sanger, Jessica Sanger, Ashley Lohmann, Margaret Rardin, Anna Rardin Christina (Caner) Kaman; cousins Glenn (Olga) Kolat, Brian (Kitty) Kolat, Hope Shiers, Faith (Dan) Allen, Charity (Terry) Logan; brother-in-law James (Nancy) Rardin; father by affection George Moore; Godchildren Genevieve Vuksic and Robert Mays and many extended cousins.

Memorial service is 11AM Nov.9th at Campton Baptist Church with lunch following.
