Donna J. Capell, 71, of Terryville, CT, finished her journey of Alzheimers and passed away in the comfort of her home on April 19th, 2025. She was the loving wife of Robert Capell, 72, for almost 50 years.

Donna was born on April 12, 1954, in Waterbury, CT, to the late Donald and Jane Oliver, and grew up in Thomaston, CT. She was a labor and delivery Licensed Practical Nurse for 43 years at Waterbury Hospital and she spent her life helping and serving others. Her greatest passion was travel, especially in the way of camping. She planned trips for her family all over New England and other parts of the country. She wanted to see as much as she could of the United States and create lasting memories for herself and Bob and her children. She even took her grandchildren camping often. She was the epitome of a loving and devoted mother, never missing a horse show or mountain bike race, and always encouraging her children to chase their dreams. Her little dog Jack was loyal to the end and never left her side.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, a daughter Lisa (and Daniel) De Sousa of Bristol and their three children Ryleigh Falkner, Quinn Falkner, and Ellis De Sousa; a son Jason Capell (and Elaina Thackery) of San Luis Obispo, CA; two sisters, Bridget Didsbury of Inverness, FL, Marcia Oliver Volovski Clark of Gulfport FL, as well as several nieces and nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 24th, 2025, from 2pm to 5pm at the Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, 12 Knife Shop Rd., Northfield, CT 06778. A time to share stories and memories about Donna will begin at 3pm.
