Dear Sarah, Matt, Katie, Mrs. Soenkson and Jenny (along with the whole Lovejoy Family),

My prayers are with all of you as you go through this undoubtedly difficult time.

As I look back on my childhood in Davenport, I have nothing but absolutely wondeful memories of Donna and Ward. They weren't just my friends' grandparents or my neighbors, they were like grandparents to me and they were my friends. I will always remember them as one of the most caring and giving couples I've ever known, sharing their home, their food and their time with a family that wasn't even theirs.

Although we moved when I was eleven, the years that I spent growing up, while in their backyard playing with their grandchildren and their dogs, will always be some of my very favorite memories from my childhood. Donna made the best chocolate chip cookies and Ward was always making something amazing in the garage. Thank you for letting my brothers and me be a part of your family, Donna and Ward. I love you both and will never forget you.

Sincerely,

Becky Cann-Dusenberry
