Donna Muscarello Obituary

Published by The Reidsville Review, Eden Daily News, or Madison Messenger from Sep. 30 to Oct. 2, 2007.
EDEN - Donna Beth Luck Muscarello, 60, known for her kindheartedness and genuineness, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, in her sleep.
She was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Eden, to Leo and Ruby Luck. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1978, serving until she retired with the rank of ET1. Donna earned her bachelor's degree from the University of the State of New York and her master's in social work from Norfolk State University. She went on to earn her LMSW license in Virginia and then in Texas. She was a member and served as Worthy Matron of Corpus Christi Order of the Eastern Start Chapter 354. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Fleet Reserve, a life member of t he VFW Auxiliary and served as Adjutant of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 12.
Donna was an accomplished pianist, singer, square dancer and seamstress, a wife, mother and family member extraordinaire. Donna leaves us with the extraordinary example of her caring and generous spirit which she freely shared with everyone, especially animals and, in particular, her "babies:" four dogs - Ivory, Leo, Josie and Gabby, and three cats - Stormy, Windy and Hazel. She will be best remembered for her love of life, laughter, fun, family and friends, and one who truly never met a stranger. She never tired of taking care of others, devoting many hours of community services to those in need. She was a devoted and loving wife, a dedicated and compassionate mother, and loyal and committed family member. No words can express the emptiness felt by all at her passing. However, we are left with the richness and fullness she brought to our lives. What a blessing she was to our lives.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Leo Harold Luck and mother, Ruby Spain Luck and her "Mom," Mary Muscarello. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Vince Muscarello; her sons, Joe, James, "Jimmy," Jason, and Jonathon Craft, Chris Hanna, Robert Muscarello; her daughters, Marie and Tina Muscarello and Barbar Aschrl, 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, her aunts, uncle, and cousins of North Carolina, and innumerable friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow in the chapel at 7 p.m. Rev. Andy Pettigrew will be officiating. Donna will be flown to New Orleans, La., for a traditional marching band burial in St. Patrick's number one cemetery.
The family will receive family and friends at the home of the aunt and uncle, Doris and James Spain, 711 S. Elm St., Eden.
Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fairfuneralhome.com.
