We met Doris and Lloyd in Edmonton on joining 2nd Battalion PPCLI and Lloyd was my Company Commander. She was gracious and generous as she made us welcome to our new world. She was the role model for all the young wives and an example of how it was to be done. We have been friends ever since and will miss her. Lloyd we know you will take strength from your family and the Lord. Our prayers are with you.

I knew Mrs. Swick (Doris) as a kind, supportive mother of a good friend. She was always interested in me and my children and took the time to listen and be pleased at our accomplishments in a way that made me feel like we were part of her family. She was a special person - non-judgmental, forgiving, encouraging and positive. Our world was and is a better place because she was here.
