Dorothy FOTHERGILL Obituary

Dorothy May Fothergill
July 10, 1928 - May 8, 2015
Our dear Dorothy passed away Friday morning at Samaritan Place nursing home, where she had been lovingly cared for. We are sad that with vascular dementia she missed out on the last few years of her life and so did we. We are thankful that she is now at peace. Dorothy was a well-educated, bright lady who was employed for many years with the University of Saskatchewan, and in Yellowknife, NWT and Chalk River, ON. Sensitive and caring, she was interested in the environment, the north country, animals, music and travelling with her late husband Alan. She was a gifted writer of prose and poetry. Dorothy and Alan were married in September, 1964. She was predeceased by Alan; her parents John and Dora Mitchell; her brother Donald John Mitchell. Surviving to mourn her passing are her son John Fothergill and his wife Jamie of Victoria; daughter Moreah Horn and her children, Jordanna and Drayden Horn of Saskatoon; her sister Kay Davidson and brother-in-law Bob Davidson of Saskatoon. Second only to her family, Dorothy dearly loved her toy poodles Cherie and Angelle, and more recently, a Heinz 57 doggie named Baby, who provided great comfort to her in her final years at home. In keeping with Dorothy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Dorothy was a good friend and we were spiritually enriched by her presence. She spoke very highly of her family and we found her to be kind and helpful to everyone. We will miss Dorothy. " In my Soul I am free" Sending love to her family. Dave and Addie Tokarchuk
