My Grandma was an amazing person with the heart of gold. Grandma always made everything better; from taking us out for our birthdays to going to Grandma and Grandpa's house, to specially made things for her friends and family (yum, Norwegian meatballs... my favorite).
She had a contagious smile and laugh and that is one thing that not even this disease could rob her of.
I miss her dearly but know that I will see her again.
Love you Grandma!!!!

Dorothy always had a big smile. She lite up a room and it was fun being around her. My photo albums have many pictures which bring back wonderful memories of times spent with her and Rodger. Godspeed, Dorothy.

My wife Joan and I were very sad to hear of my Aunt Dorothy's passing. She was a fun, witty, outgoing person who was a joy to be around.
I remember fondly when she and Rodger stopped in Madison a few years ago to visit my father Virgil in the nursing home. This was the first time I had seen Dorothy since her diagnosis. I was happy to see that her cheery disposition had not been affected, she was still a peach! We all sat outside in the spring sun and I recall Rodger making sure she was warm in her colorful Navajo style coat that he made sure was all buttoned up. The love they shared was quite apparent to me as I watched their interaction. It is a memory of her that I will always keep with me.
Aunt Dorothy, we love you and will miss you dearly.

I am sorry for your loss. I knew Jim from North Dorm at IIT and didn't learn of his passing until quite a while after. He was a great guy and I'm sure much of that was due to his Mom and Dad.

Mom, I have so many wonderful memories over birthdays, holidays, or just hanging out. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I love you very much. I miss those easy conversations and time we spent together. We miss you very much, but I know one day we will "hang out" again together. Love, Anne

Dear Rodger, John and Anne, Both Tom and I are especially saddened to hear the news of Dorothy's passing; we both feel she was pure sunshine. It didn't matter how long between visits over the years, she was always the warmest and most friendly person to Tom and me, making us feel especially welcome and able pick up right where we left off the last time. It was one of her many gifts to make others feels so special. She truly was one of a kind, and we feel your loss deeply. We aren't able to attend the services (will explain in a separate email), but our thoughts are with all of you at this time; please know we are with you in spirit. Love, Tom and Linda
