Dorothy Marie McKee

McKEE – Dorothy Marie, 86, Topton, Pa., formerly of Johnstown, died March 7, 2009, at Lutheran Home of Topton. Born June 5, 1922, in Johnstown, daughter of Rudolph and Katharina (Ackerman) Schoenberger. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Daun R.; brothers: Henry, William and Robert; and sister, Margaret Mattern. Survived by children: Daun E., married to the former Mary Jo Duell, Fleetwood, Pa.; David L., married to the former Portia Zareski, Collierville, Tenn.; and Ellen K. Long, Christiansburg, Va.; grandchildren: Kristen Gay, Rachel Gibbs, Joshua McKee, David McKee, April McKee, Amanda Madison and Edward and William Long; and 10 great-grandchildren. Member of Moxham Lutheran Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Acolyte coordinator, lector, worship and music committee, Parish Life committee, communion assistant and volunteered for many church activities. Salvation Army board member, Cambria Senior Center board member and Allegheny Lutheran Home volunteer. She was a 1940 Johnstown Senior High School graduate and an IUP summer session school, food service management. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moxham Lutheran Church, the Rev. Dr. Robert R. Wagner. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
