Dorothy Pilkington Obituary
Dorothy Sadly in her own home on Saturday, 23rd October, 2020, Dorothy, aged 81 years, beloved wife to the late James, much loved mum to Phillip and the late Gavin, mother in law to Keelie, loving grandma to Gareth, Harry and Tobias, also a dear friend and neighbour who will be sadly missed. Dorothy's funeral cortege will leave from her sons' home on Tuesday, 10th November at 10-20 a.m. for service and cremation at Burnley Crematorium, 10-45 a.m. Family flowers only or donations if so desired to Pendleside Hospice, c/o and all inquiries to Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, 128 Rossendale Road, Burnley, BB11 5DH. Dear Dorothy, Don't know what made me look at the Burnley Express tonight, am stunned to find this news. I have been meaning ring you for the last couple of months but haven't so am so very sad I didn't get to speak to you, although we did speak during the first lockdown.
We had so many happy memories of our time living together in London and all those terrible drives up the M1 on a Friday night and driving back again on Sunday afternoon.
I will never be able to thank you enough how kind you were to my Mum before she died and I thank you for that.
You are my last remaining link to Burnley
