Dorothy Schiffer Obituary
Dorothy grew up and graduated from Roselle High School in Roselle, New Jersey. She attended Earlham College and Purdue University where she met her husband, Edgar C. Schiffer.
She was a devoted and loving wife who valued spending time with her family. After her children were in school, she worked part-time as a realtor and later as a medical technologist at St. Mary's Hospital. She enjoyed several hobbies and the many wonderful friends she made along the way. She collected antiques, played bridge, loved traveling, was a member of the McCutchanville and Seedlings Garden Clubs where she helped plan home tours and was recognized for her beautiful flower arrangements and holiday door decorations.
Dorothy was a longtime member of the McCutchanville Methodist Church, The McCutchanville Community Association, and the Money Market Women's Investment Club. Most recently she thoughtfully collected books to encourage her great grandchildren's love of reading. Those who knew Dorothy well will remember her as an outgoing and friendly person with a warm smile and an appreciation of life's simple pleasures.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ed; her children Mark B. Schiffer of Evansville and Pamela Bradigan-Sestile (Richard) of Columbus OH; three grandchildren, Danielle Schiffer, Laura and Brent Bradigan; and two great-grandchildren, Crishawn and Quincy.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at McJohnston Chapel in McCutchanville, 9501 Erskine Lane and Kansas Road, officiated by Dusty Russell. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road and Tuesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to McJohnston Chapel, 9501 Erskine Lane, Evansville, IN 47725. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNorthChapel.com.

Dear Uncle Edgar, Pam, Mark and family. I just learned of Aunt Dorothy's passing and so sorry to hear this sad news. I have so many fond memories of her and recall her big smile, gentle manner and loving heart.
