East Peoria woman was 102
EAST PEORIA - Dorothy Ann Winston, 102, of East Peoria passed away at 10:33 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Rosewood Care Center of East Peoria.
Born Feb. 14, 1910, in Trenton, N.J., to Frank and Marie (Gillen) Zeis, she married Robert Watson Winston on Sept. 10, 1933, in Trenton, N.J. He died July 21, 1999, in East Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Surviving is one son, Patrick Henry (Karen Ann Prendergast) Winston of Concord, Mass.; and one granddaughter, Sarah Madeleine Winston of Concord.
Mrs. Winston had been a member of the East Peoria Women's Club for more than 50 years and also had belonged to the Optimist Club.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Deacon Ernie Whited of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin officiated. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.

Dorothy was a sweet lady and I enjoyed talking to her when I took walks on Fondulac Drive.
