Douglas Edward Bevan, A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Douglas Edward Bevan will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 26th at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington, OH.
Doug passed away on Wednesday, August 16th.
He was born March 1st, 1959 in Columbus, OH to Dan (deceased) and Alice Bevan.
He is also survived by immediate family: Cathy; son Tony Dawson (Charity); and his two grandchildren Eden and Eli, the lights of his life.
Other survivors include brothers: Dan (Linda), David (Stefany), Geoff (Linda), mother-in-law Evelyn, brother-in-law Keith Moore(Leslie); beloved nieces and nephews Michelle (Kip), Ryan, Nate (Nikki), John, Sam, Jacob, SheaLee, Alexa, Jen, Joe, Leah and Mitchell; and by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Doug also leaves numerous Troy, Honda, and Worthington friends.
Doug graduated from Worthington High School, Class of 1977. Immediately following high school, he spent three years in the U.S. Army, receiving his honorable discharge. He attended The Ohio State University. In 1986, Doug began a 30-year career with Honda of America as an Engineering Coordinator with HAM Purchasing Operations at the Anna, OH facility. Doug was an avid Ohio State football fan and spent many Saturdays at the Shoe tailgating and cheering on the Buckeyes. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, and traveling to the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Most of all, Doug loved and cherished his family. Husband, father, Pappy, son, brother, and uncle describe him best. There is no way to describe what he meant to us; to count the things that he did for all of us; and no conceivable way to describe how much he will always be missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Doug's memory to The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University. The OSUCCC – James 660 Ackerman Road, 6th Floor PO Box 183112. Columbus, OH 43218-3112.

I worked with Doug at Honda and remember how easy he was to work with whenever we had problems with our supply chain. Doug loved his family. It was evident in every conversation, there was no mistaking how much he loved you all. I am so very sorry for your loss.

My name is Tim Geitner and I work at AAM (formally Metaldyne in PA). Doug's position as our supplier contact allowed me the honor to meet him and eventually we become good friends outside of work. He was a pleasure to work with as he was very patient and taught us much about the Honda way. But more importantly, Doug would tell me about how much he loved his family. I remember how excited he was when his grandchildren were born as he would send me pictures. I would do the same with pictures of my grandchildren around the same age.
As a Penn Sate fan, we had a long standing bet that would include if OSU won, he would bring a jersey for me to wear among my peers. Likewise, if PSU won, I would have a jersey for him to wear when he visited us. However, I would take a picture and send it to his work peers.
Doug was a special person and I will always remember him. I will miss him very much.

I remember Doug as a hard-working student/athlete on Worthingway Middle School's football team. He was a significant contributor to the success of the team and he also played a significant leadership role on the team as well as with his fellow students in school. I consider it a privilege to have worked with him.
